5U Storage
Servers
Back in the early days of Rackmount computers, 5U servers were a common size to allow sufficient room for enough 5.25” hard drives to provide adequate storage. Much has changed in server design and function, but the main reason for purchasing a 5U server is still for maximizing the number of hard drives. Now, you can have as many as 48 2 TB hard drives in a 5U chassis for nearly 100 terabytes in one server and no doubt the 100 terabyte boundary will be crossed in 2010! Plus this server supports quad AMD Opteron processor motherboards to offer plenty of processing power to go along with the awesome storage capacity.
